Background

Doxa is a startup focused on making crypto accessible and fun. They build engaging platforms that break barriers and change the way people think about global narratives.

Challenge

The team had two constraints early on: the color palette and the "retro-futurist" aesthetic. Initially, I was concerned that it might not be appropriate, but the research proved otherwise.

Strategy

Retrofuturism is largely based on the Streamline Moderne design movement. I spent a lot of time uncovering the motivations behind the work they were producing in the '40s. The futurists were focused on tearing down all that was traditional and static, while making the world more engaging and optimistic. This idea perfectly aligned with Doxa's mission statement.

The final mark communicates Doxa's position as a change-maker in the industry while retaining a sense of playfulness and excitement. The logotype is set in Sharp Sans Display No.1. It has a similar feel to Futura, but it is a little more whimsical.
